Hand Tools

Collaboration with poet, Meg Day
Digital chromogenic print, 5" x 7" (collection of 500)
2018

Hand Tools is a series of postcards produced by Liss LaFleur and Meg Day. Divided into right and left, front and back, this series explores repeated gesture, and the artist's relationships with queerness, kinship, ability, and acts of everyday domestic performance.

On the front of each postcard is an image of LaFleur's hand, wearing a set of glass nail extensions in the shape of traditional domestic hand tools. These include: a screw driver, saw, hammer, and various wrenches. The back of each postcard includes a text written by Day. Made concurrently, printed in a limited edition of 500.
