Lay Lady Lay is a two channel performance capture animation made in response to Therese Okoumou climbing the statue of Liberty on July 4, 2018, and the hours of surveillance video that screened online directly following her stand-off and capture. This work adopts a retelling of Bob Dylan's popular 1969 pop song by the same name, and uses motion capture animation to record the artist lip synching as a 3D model of the statue of Liberty.
