Emerging Female Artist Fellow Recipient
Liss LaFleur has been named an Emerging Women Artist Fellow for 2016-2017 through Peripheral Vision Art!
Peripheral Vision Arts is a digital art criticism journal, curatorial platform, and commercial art gallery administering merit-based Publication Fellowships for emerging and mid-career US visual artists. We pair Fellows with professional art critics to produce original essays and artist interviews for publication in Peripheral Vision: An Interdisciplinary Journal of the Visual Arts. Our Publication Fellowships are open to creators working in all visual art categories, including Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Installation, Performance Art, Video Art, Sound Art, Public Art, Social Practice, New Genres, Intermedia, Computer Art, Activism, Street + Graffiti Art. Additionally, we administer two art competitions and two curated online exhibitions annually, which include various publication opportunities or stipends. Receiving critical attention in the early stages of one's career is crucial to building the experience needed to be competitive in academic and commercial practices. Our name signifies who we are and what we do: Peripheral Vision responds to a critical blind spot in the mainstream commercial art world which leaves many artists, especially women, marginalized or under-recognized.
The Peripheral Vision Gallery is a dynamic, online commercial fine art gallery for the sale of original art, photographs, prints, and multiples by Publication Fellows. Selections are curated by Founder and Executive Director SCOTT GLEESON through our distinctive Publication Fellowship program. Purchase art via credit card or contact Scott Gleeson at email@example.com for inquires.
